The day addresses the psychological and social impacts of living with a bleeding disorder\, helps prepare youth members for summer camp\, and encourages empowerment and advocacy among individuals and families. \nThis year\, we’re expanding the experience by coming together for a picnic-style celebration in the park — a day of fun in the sun where our community can connect\, relax\, and enjoy time together. Families can look forward to carnival booth games\, picnic lawn games\, and activities for all ages\, creating space to learn\, laugh\, and build lasting connections. \nJoin us for a day of education\, community\, and outdoor fun! \nNOTE: As a thank you for attending and participating in the full event\, each participant (age 3+) will receive a Knott’s Berry Farm ticket at the conclusion of the event to enjoy with their family. Participants must arrive by 8:45AM and stay to the conclusion of the event in order to be eligible for ticket. Tickets will expire 12/10/2026. Must register group no later than 04/10/2026 at 11:59PM in order to be guaranteed a ticket. Registrations after April 10 will be given on an standby availability basis only and are not guaranteed. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 47th year of Camp Blood Brothers and Sisters! \nIn partnership with and hosted by The Painted Turtle\, our summer camp provides a safe and exciting camp experience for children ages 7-16 with a rare genetic blood disorder. Teens aged 17-18 are also welcome to attend camp as Leaders in Training (LIT). In each session\, between morning horseback rides and evening campfires\, children become artists\, swimmers\, athletes\, canoe paddlers\, stargazers\, actors on stage\, adventurers\, and\, most importantly\, friends. Our campers form a unique community\, living in cabins alongside other kids coping with similar medical conditions. With the support of both counselors and cabin mates\, kids discover they are capable of doing things they never dreamed possible. Our campers experience a magical transformation\, as they sing and dance\, paint\, play\, and develop important friendships. Life outside of camp may mean a series of medical procedures and hospital stays\, but camp is an opportunity for kids to just be kids.
