CJ Cook is currently employed by Inland Counties Regional Center as Manager of Community Engagement, serving over 52,000 adults and children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. As Manager of Community Engagement, he oversees IRC community relations, Language Access and Cultural Competency (LACC), emergency services, and Service Access and Equity. He is also charged with addressing the disparity in the purchase of services through the successful implementation of Community-Based Organization programs, which receive grant funding from the State of California Department of Developmental Services.
CJ is a December 2, 2015, terrorist attack survivor. The events of 12/2/2015 acted as a catalyst for him to complete a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) with a Specialization in Homeland Security, Leadership, and Policy from Northcentral University, San Diego. His dissertation, titled, “Investigating Emergency Operational Procedures and Protocols in the Regional Center System in California: A Qualitative Explanatory Case Study,” explored the barriers in disaster preparedness within the Regional Center System of Care.
