Our health care is under threat, whether you get that care through Medi-Cal, ACA marketplace coverage, Medicare, or your employer. Even those with private insurance will not go unaffected as broad cuts and changes to our health system will impact everyone.

This is the challenge of our time!  We need everyone in our community, not only our Future Leaders, to show up on Legislative Day, March 23^rd, at the State Capitol in Sacramento.  You may not have lived through health insurance lifetime caps, denials for pre-existing conditions and other insurance challenges from the before ACA times.  However, everyone can appreciate how difficult those times were for families unable to get insurance for their children with bleeding disorders or themselves as adults.  We need to speak up now so that legislators don’t turn back the clock to those times again.

Nuestra atención médica está en peligro, ya sea que la obtenga a través de Medi-Cal, Covered California, Medicare o su empleador.  Incluso si usted tiene un seguro privado, se vería afectado ya que los amplios recortes y cambios en nuestro sistema de salud afectarán a todos.

¡Este es el reto de nuestro tiempo! Necesitamos que todos los miembros de nuestra comunidad, no solo nuestros jóvenes, acudan al Día Legislativo, el 23 de marzo, en el Capitolio del Estado en Sacramento. Es posible que no haya vivido durante los años cuando  los límites de por vida de los seguros médicos, las denegaciones por condiciones preexistentes y otros retos de los seguros amenazaban a nuestra comunidad antes de la ACA. Sin embargo, todos podemos apreciar lo difícil que fue esa época para las familias que no podían obtener un seguro para sus hijos con desórdenes sanguíneos o para ustedes mismos como adultos. Tenemos que alzar la voz ahora para que los legisladores no vuelvan a retroceder a aquellos tiempos.
