Brian Iavicoli is a School Nurse for the Bonita Unified School District. His daughter was born with a rare congenital bleeding disorder, a platelet abnormality known as Glanzmann’s Thrombasthenia. This diagnosis brought the family into the rare disease community, and ultimately to the Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California. Brian has worked in the in the healthcare industry for over 18 years, beginning with his work as Psychiatric Technician caring for the developmentally disabled at Lanterman Developmental Center. He previously worked as a Registered Nurse in the acute care setting, with time spent in both the Medical-Surgical wing and the Emergency Room. Brian transitioned to school nursing two years ago to help promote health and education and to assist individuals like his daughter so they may succeed in the school setting.
